What do I bring to my appointment?
Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes that allow access to the area of concern and are “movement-friendly”. Athletic footwear is recommended. Also, a positive attitude and willingness to partner with us in your recovery is helpful and appreciated.
How much time shall I allot to my appointment?
Your initial appointment/evaluation will take approximately 45 and 60 minutes. Please arrive 15-20 minutes before this initial appointment to allow for completion of necessary paperwork. An evaluation will be performed followed by introductory therapy. Subsequent appointments will vary with the program we create in response to your personal situation.
How long will I need to come for therapy?
It depends on one’s injury or condition. Your therapist will discuss a projected length of treatment at your initial evaluation. You are free to schedule appointments on a week- to-week basis, or for the total required duration.
What types of insurance do you take?
Physical Therapy in Motion accepts most insurances, however, we do not accept Mass Health, Neighborhood Health, or BMC.
What are your hours of operation?
It differs between clinics but generally we are open Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Days can vary so please inquire about specific times.
What about exercising at home?
Physical Therapy in Motion utilizes teamwork for your rehab treatment plan. Success rates are better when the patient is compliant with the therapist’s advice which will include a home exercise program. You must realize that you are an integral part of the team. It is very important that you do these exercises as assigned. Successful recovery comes from hard work and a positive attitude. You will likely be advised to continue with exercises to be performed following the completion of your skilled care.
How will my doctor know how I am doing?
Following the initial evaluation a plan of treatment is sent to your referring physician. Ongoing communication and progress updates are provided as appropriate.
